I am so glad that you are here.
I created this site to share reflections on music ministry, and also to encourage those who serve as church musicians. Specifically, I would like to encourage you. Whether you are new to music ministry, have served for years, or fit somewhere in between, I pray that you think of each post or prayer you read here as a “pep talk” from someone who can likely relate to many of the things that you’re experiencing as a church musician, including joys, challenges, moments of exhaustion, and so much more.
Like you, I am a church musician. I may not be physically serving next to you, but I have served with you many times in our universal Church. We’ve probably worshiped simultaneously on more than one occasion, whether we realized it or not. And I want to support you, and cheer for you. Thank you for doing such beautiful, important, and holy work.
My goal is to communicate an incredible truth to you: God is happy that you are serving Him as a musician. He is happy that we are all serving. In our own unique ways, we have discerned His plan for us to make music in His Church, and we are trying our very best to fulfill this plan to the best of our abilities. We’re able to do it because He is guiding us.
Whether you serve once a month, once a year, or every single weekend, God is thankful for what you are doing to build up His Church. Whether you sing, play, intone, arrange, compose, or some combination of these things, please know that you are doing the Lord’s work. You said yes. God loves this. And He loves you. He is your biggest fan, your cheerleader, your encourager, your supporter, your leader, and your guide. He will always, always be there with you.
You believe in Him, and He believes in you.
May Our Lord continue to bless you, and all of us, as we serve Him lovingly and faithfully through music. And may this site provide a place of encouragement along your journey, as you glorify Him with the music that answers His call.
